The coronavirus 2019 (COVID-19) pandemic resulted in serious limitations for healthcare systems, and this study aimed to investigate the impact of COVID-19 surges on in-patient care capacities in Iran employing the Adaptt tool. Using a cross-sectional study design, our study was carried out in the year 2022 using 1-year epidemiologic (polymerase chain reaction-positive COVID-19 cases) and hospital capacity (beds and human resource) data from the official declaration of the pandemic in Iran in February 2020. We populated several scenarios, and in each scenario, a proportion of hospital capacity is assumed to be allocated to the COVID-19 patients. In most of the scenarios, no significant shortage was found in terms of bed and human resources. However, considering the need for treatment of non- COVID-19 cases, in one of the scenarios, it can be observed that during the peak period, the number of required and available specialists is exactly equal, which was a challenge during surge periods and resulted in extra hours of working and workforce burnout in hospitals. The shortage of intensive care unit beds and doctors specializing in internal medicine, infectious diseases, and anesthesiology also requires more attention for planning during the peak days of COVID-19.

This qualitative study was conducted with the aim of investigating the experience of mothers in Tehran in the field of virtual education during the COVID-19 pandemic. The participants in this study were 17 mothers of school children who experienced virtual education in Tehran during the COVID-19 pandemic. Data collection was done through semi-structured interviews, over the phone, and lasted for approximately 30-45 min. The interviews were audio recorded with the permission of the participants, transcribed verbatim, and analyzed using the method of conventional content analysis. For this study, 17 mothers were interviewed. Of those, 7 had one school-age child, 8 had two, and 2 had three. All of the children lived with both their mother and father. The majority of the mothers (16 out of 17) held bachelor's degrees. On average, the students were 11.76 years old. Fourteen of the students attended public schools, while 3 attended private schools. Most of the mothers (14 out of 17) reported their financial status as average. Data analysis led to the identification of 3 main themes and 12 subthemes. The three main categories were family-related factors, student-related factors, and school-related factors. The 4 themes related to family included 1) the role of family as a teacher, 2) the importance of direct and indirect supervision in family education, 3) the cost, and 4) the peace of mind. Factors related to students included 5 themes; 1) the advantages and disadvantages of virtual learning environments, 2) time management in education, 3) the consequences of failing to acquire necessary skills and knowledge, 4) issues of indifference and fraud in education, 5) physical, mental, and social problems affecting students. Factors related to schools included 3 themes; 1) the role of the teacher in virtual teaching and learning, 2) the challenges of lack of prior experience in education, 3) inequality in access to education and opportunities. The findings of this study have several implications for policymakers. Paying attention to technological and educational challenges related to virtual education and providing adequate support to parents are important things that should be prioritized. In addition, psychological support services should be made available to parents so that they can cope with the emotional challenges of virtual education. Finally, the positive experiences reported by mothers suggest that virtual education can be an effective and flexible option for future education, provided that the challenges are adequately addressed. Moreover, no work has been done on this issue comprehensively and the few studies that have followed this method have had some limitations. Therefore, schools, parents, and policymakers should explore innovative ways of integrating virtual education into the educational system to provide flexible and effective learning opportunities for students.

BACKGROUND: After the outbreak of COVID-19, a huge part of the health care services was dedicated to preventing and treating this disease. In case of COVID-19 infection, severe COVID-19 is reported more in pregnant individuals. Afterward, Vaccination against SARS-CoV-2 became a hot topic due to known effects in preventing severe COVID-19 during pregnancy. Vaccination of pregnant individuals started in August 2021 with the Sinopharm vaccine in Iran. The aim of current study was to determine the incidence of perinatal outcomes in women who were vaccinated during pregnancy. METHOD: This retrospective cohort study included 129,488 singleton births from March 21, 2021, until March 21, 2022, in Tehran, Iran. The data was obtained from the Iranian Maternal and Neonatal (IMaN) Network and the Maternal Vaccination Registry. Adverse perinatal outcomes investigated in this study include preterm birth, extremely preterm birth, low birth weight, very low birth weight, intrauterine growth restriction, stillbirth, neonatal intensive care unit admission, congenital anomaly, neonatal death and low 5-minute Apgar score. The risk of all perinatal outcomes was evaluated using multiple logistic regression. The analysis was done using STATA version 14. RESULTS: Of all 129,488 singleton births included in this study, 17,485 (13.5%) were vaccinated against SARS-CoV-2 (all with Sinopharm (BBIBP-CorV)). The exposure to the Sinopharm vaccine during pregnancy caused a significant decrease in the incidence of preterm birth (P =0.006, OR=0.91 [95% CI, 0.85 to 0.97]), extremely preterm birth (P =<0.001,OR=0.55 [95% CI, 0.45 to 0.66]), and stillbirth (P =<0.001, OR=0.60 [95% CI, 0.47 to 0.76]). Exposure to vaccination during the first trimester was associated with an increased risk of preterm birth (P =0.01, OR=1.27 [95% CI, 1.04 to 1.55]) Maternal vaccination during pregnancy was not associated with an increased risk of other adverse perinatal outcomes included in this study. CONCLUSION: The finding of this population-based study indicated no adverse pregnancy outcome due to vaccination with the Sinopharm vaccine during the second and third trimesters of pregnancy. Overall risk of adverse pregnancy outcomes were lower in the vaccinated individuals compared to the unvaccinated group. Also, vaccination during the first trimester was associated with an increased risk of preterm birth.

BACKGROUND: Vaccination is one of the most effective ways to manage infectious disease epidemics such as Covid-19. However, the low rates of vaccination in populations at risk including people using illicit substances, hinders the effectiveness of preventive vaccines in reducing transmission. The aim of this study was to investigate the rate of Covid-19 vaccination and its related factors among people who use substances in Tehran, Iran. METHODS: Between July and December 2022, 386 people who use substances aged ≥ 18 years old were recruited by convenience street-based sampling in Tehran. The outcome variable in this study was self-reported completion of at least two doses of the Covid-19 vaccine. Logistic regression was used to investigate the factors related to Covid-19 vaccination. Data were analyzed using SPSS software version 20 at the 0.05 level of significance. As a measure of risk, 95% Confidence interval (CI) was used. The level of significance was considered at 0.05. RESULTS: Almost three-quarters (n = 286) of the participants reported receiving at least two doses of the Covid-19 vaccine (95% CI, 70.2-79.3). Those participants with high school diplomas were 1.17 times more likely than less educated participants to report having had 2 vaccinations (OR of 1.17, CI 95%: 1.03-1.81). Participants with a higher mean score of having a positive attitude towards Covid-19 vaccination were more likely to have received a vaccination (OR of 1.12, CI 95%: 1.08-1.17). Ethnicity was also an influential variable, people with non-Fars ethnicity were less likely to be vaccinated than those of Fars ethnicity (OR of 0.33, CI 95%: 0.13-0.81). People with higher-than-average monthly income were more likely to report vaccination than those with low monthly incomes (OR of 1.27, CI 95%: 1.09-1.8). Also, participants reporting less access to vaccination centers had a lower chance of reporting having been vaccinated than those who reported high access to vaccination centers (OR of .17, CI 95%: .08-.36). CONCLUSIONS: Covid-19 vaccine uptake was found to be relatively high among people using illicit substances in this study. Higher levels of education, Fars ethnicity, higher income levels, having a positive attitude towards vaccination and access to vaccination centers were the most important predictors of Covid-19 vaccination in this study.

PURPOSE: The aim of this study is to investigate drug use disorders which are a major cause of Disability Adjusted Life Years (DALYs) in the Eastern Mediterranean Region (EMR). METHODS: This article is a part of the global burden of diseases (GBD), injuries, and risk factors 2019 study. The GBD modeling approach was used to estimate population-level prevalence of drug use disorders. We combined these estimates with disability weights to calculate years of life lived with disability (YLDs), years of life lost (YLLs), and disability-adjusted life-years (DALYs) for 1990-2019. RESULTS: It is estimated that in 2019 in EMR around 3.4 million people have drug use disorder which has increased by 137% compared to 1990. Also, in 2019, DALY number for drug use disorders was 1217.9 (95% UI: 940.4, 1528.9) thousand years and 7645 (95% UI: 6793.7, 8567.9) deaths occurred. The DALY rate increased 39.6% in the region since1990, whereas the global rate increased by 24.4%. United Arab Emirates, Libya, and Iran were most affected by drug use disorders with the highest rates of age-standardized DALY in EMR in 2019. The most prevalent drug use disorder in the region is opioid use which is accountable for 80% of all drug use disorders DALYs. CONCLUSION: Despite many interventions, drug use disorders are still responsible for high rates of DALY in the region which has increased since 1990 in both males and females; more comprehensive policies, better control measures and proper education could reduce the adverse effects.

Objectives: Eye involvement is a main presentation of Behcet's disease. This study was performed to evaluate possible determinants affecting the occurrence of eye involvement, especially the role of early systemic treatment with immunomodulatory drugs on the incidence of ocular involvement. Methods: This is a retrospective cohort study performed on 1166 Behcet's patients in the Behcet's Clinic of Rheumatology Research Center. All patients were followed up for at least 10 years and a maximum of 15 years. Data analysis was performed using survival analysis models including Kaplan-Meier Survival analysis, Logrank test, and Cox's proportional hazards regression. Results: 1166 Behcet's patients were evaluated. 80 patients who had eye involvement as the first manifestation of the disease were excluded and 1086 participants entered the analysis. Among them, 647 patients (59.6%) developed ocular involvement 7.8 ± 6.7 years after the first symptom. Immunomodulatory treatment before ocular involvement reduced the risk by 3 times (P-value <0.001). Conclusion: This study demonstrated that the initiation of immunomodulatory treatment prior to eye involvement can reduce the risk of eye involvement in Behcet's patients. Therefore, reducing the onset time of disease symptoms and providing appropriate treatment can reduce Behcet's disease ocular complications.

In this regard, health system managers at decision-making levels tried to overcome this problem. Therefore, strategies to deal with this issue and bring the surveillance system to an ideal state were proposed and considered.

Introduction: Compulsory treatment has decades of history in Iran; both before and after the Islamic Revolution, but there are many debates regarding its efficacy and effectiveness. Retention Rate is one of the best indices to estimate the efficacy of treatment. This study will compare Retention Rate among people referred from compulsory treatment centers and volunteer participants. Methods: This was a retrospective (historical) cohort study that has been conducted among people who were taking methadone maintenance treatment (MMT). The study sample was selected from the MMT centers that admit both referral patients from compulsory centers and voluntary patients. All newly admitted patients from March 2017 to March 2018 were enrolled and followed up until March 2019. Results: A total of 105 participants were recruited for the study. All were males with a mean age of 36.6 ± 7.9 years. Fifty-six percent of individuals were referred from compulsory residential centers. The total one-year retention rate of participants in this study was 15.84%. The one-year retention rate for the patients referred from compulsory residential centers and the non-referred patients was 12.28 and 20.45%, respectively (value of p = 0.128). Among the other studied factors, only marital status was significantly associated with MMT retention (p = 0.023). Conclusion: Although the average treatment adherence time for non-referred patients was about 60 days higher than those referred from compulsory residential centers, this study found no significant differences in retention days and a one-year retention rate. Further studies with larger sample sizes and longer follow-ups are needed to explore the efficacy of compulsory treatment methods in Iran.

BACKGROUND: Non-communicable diseases behavioral risk factors can be improved if effective interventions are designed considering the health system's capabilities and local resources. This study evaluated the effectiveness of interventions that aimed at increasing non-physician community health workers' motivation in reducing non-communicable diseases behavioral risk factors in the community. METHODS: A randomized field trial study was conducted in 32 community health centers in 4 Iranian districts after a baseline population survey on the status of NCDs of 30-70-year-old individuals (n = 1225). The interventions were performed to improve insufficient physical activity, insufficient fruit consumption, insufficient vegetable consumption, high salt intake, and tobacco use. Four intervention packages were implemented in 24 community health centers; the other 8 centers were used as control groups. The non-physician community health workers performed the interventions. The packages additively included goal-setting, evidence-based education, operational planning, and incentive payments. A second survey was conducted 1 year after the start of the interventions to identify the effects on an independent random sample of 30-70-year-old individuals (n = 1221). Difference-in-difference method was used to quantify the interventions' effects. RESULTS: The average age of participants in both surveys was about 49 years. Also, about half of the participants were female, and about 43% were illiterate or had a primary school education. The interventions had statistically significant effects only on decreasing the prevalence of insufficient physical activity. The package with all the intervention components decreased the odds of insufficient physical activity to 0.24 (95% CI, 0.08, 0.72). The package with operational planning but no performance-based financing did not change the odds of insufficient physical activity. CONCLUSIONS: This study highlighted the importance of components, design, and implementation details of interventions intended to reduce NCDs behavioral risk factors. Some risk factors, such as insufficient physical activity, seem more easily modifiable with limited low-cost interventions in a one-year horizon. However, risk factors related to healthy food consumption and tobacco use need more extensive interventions. BACKGROUND: Vaccination is a key intervention to prevent COVID-19. Many vaccines are administered globally, yet there is not much evidence regarding their safety and adverse effects. Iran also faces this challenge, especially as data regarding the Sputnik V vaccine is sparse. Therefore, the aim of this study is to determine the adverse effects of the most commonly used vaccines in Iran. METHODS: Using a retrospective cohort study design, 6600 subjects aged 18 years or older who had received two doses of any of the three COVID-19 vaccines (Sinopharm, AstraZeneca, and Sputnik V) were selected using a random sampling method between March and August 2021. Subjects were asked about any adverse effects of the vaccines by trained interviewers via telephone interview. Vaccine-related adverse effects in individuals during the first 72 h and subsequently following both doses of the vaccines were determined. The demographic variables, type of administered vaccine, adverse effects, and history of the previous infection with COVID-19 were collected. Descriptive statistics (mean, standard deviation) and analytical statistics (Chi-squared and Wilcoxon tests) were performed at a 95% significance level using STATA software version 15 (STATA Corp, College Station, TX, USA). RESULTS: From 6600 participants, 4775 responded (response rate = 72.3%). Of the participants, 1460 (30.6%) received the AstraZeneca vaccine, 1564 (32.8%) received the Sinopharm vaccine and 1751 (36.7%) received the Sputnik V vaccine. 2653 participants (55.56%) reported adverse effects after the first dose and 1704 (35.7%) after the second dose. Sputnik V caused the most adverse effects with 1449 (82.7%) vaccine recipients reporting symptoms after the first or second dose, compared with 1030 (70.5%) for AstraZeneca and only 585 (37.4%) for the Sinopharm vaccine. The most common adverse effects after the first dose were fatigue (28.37%), chill/fever (26.86%), and skeletal pain (22.38%). These three adverse effects were the same for the second dose, although their prevalence was lower. CONCLUSIONS: In this study, we demonstrate that the Sputnik V vaccine has the highest rate of adverse effects, followed by the AstraZeneca and Sinopharm vaccines. COVID-19 vaccines used in Iran are safe and there were no reports of serious adverse effects.

Background: Risk factors of noncommunicable diseases (NCD) are increasingly contributing to morbidity and mortality in Iran. Health care providers' competencies and motivation are essential factors for the success and efficiency of primary health care. This field trial aims to evaluate the impact of a results-based motivating system on population level of the NCD risk factors field trial (IRPONT) in Iran. Methods: Population groups of 24 rural or urban catchment areas from 3 provinces were randomized to 1 of the 4 types of study groups. The groups were defined based on a set of 4 intervention packages. Extra 8 rural or urban catchment areas in a separate city were considered as independent nonintervention (control) group. Population levels of major NCD risk factors in all 32 population groups were measured at the beginning of the trial, at the end of the first year, and will be measured in the second year through standardized population surveys. As the outcome measure, the difference in population levels of the risk factors will be compared among the study groups. Study group IV will be compared with combined control groups (study groups I, II, and III). Also, we will conduct subgroup analysis to determine the effects of interventions 2, 3, and 4. Ethics: This trial has received ethical approval from National Institute for Medical Research Development in Iran (IR.NIMAD.REC.1396.084) in 2017. Trial Registration Number: This trial has been registered on the Iranian Registry of Clinical Trials (identifier: IRCT20081205001488N2). Registered on 3 June 2018 and updated on 12 April 2020.

Background: Dietary patterns and diet quality index (DQI) are widely discussed in relation with different health conditions and have recently been taken into consideration for all cancer types. Since chronic inflammation has been recognized as an important biologic risk factor for cancer occurrence, especially in epithelial tissues, proinflammatory or anti-inflammatory characteristics of diet has become the center of attention. In the present study, we aimed to identify whether a specific dietary pattern, Mediterranean dietary score (MDs), and dietary inflammatory index (DII) were associated with overall cancer risk in Iranian population. Methods: This study was performed in the context of the Golestan cohort study. Participants with extreme daily energy intake or those who did not answer more than 30 question of the Food Frequency questionnaire (FFQ) were excluded. Dietary patterns, MDs, and DII were measured from FFQ. Age, sex, total energy, place of residence, smoking, wealth score, ethnicity, opiate use, BMI, education, marital status, and physical activity score were considered as confounding variables. Using Cox proportional hazards regression models, hazard ratios (HRs) and 95% confidence interval of cancer were estimated. Results: HRs (95% CIs) of all cancers by quartiles of Western dietary pattern, DII, and MDs showed that the forth quartile of the Western dietary pattern is attributed to 23% higher cancer risk (HRs: 1.23, CI: 1.09-1.40, P< 0.001, adjusted for age and sex) compared to the first quartile. It also remained significant after further adjustments (HRs = 1.20, CI: 1.06-1.36, P< 0.001). There was a higher cancer risk in the fourth quartile of DII in comparison with the first quartile (HRs = 1.16, CI: 1.01-1.32, P trend < 0.001, adjusted for age and sex). The lower adherence to the Mediterranean dietary pattern also largely contributes to 27% higher cancer risk (HRs: 1.27, CI: 1.12-1.44), P trend < 0.001, adjusted for age and sex), which also remained remarkable after further adjustments ((HRs =1.19, CI: 1.05-1.35, P trend < 0.001). Conclusion: Cancer is highly correlated to dietary intake and dietary patterns, such as the Western dietary pattern, while the Mediterranean diet score was inversely associated with cancer risk. Further investigations are required to get a broader insight into cancer determinants in population.

BACKGROUND: Neonatal mortality accounts for more than 47% of deaths among children under five globally but proper care at and around the time of birth could prevent about two-thirds of these deaths. The Every Newborn Action Plan (ENAP) offers a plan and vision to improve and achieve equitable and high-quality care for mothers and newborns. We applied the bottleneck analysis tool offered by ENAP to identify obstacles and bottlenecks hindering the scale-up of newborn care across seven health system building blocks. METHODS: We applied the every newborn bottleneck analysis tool to identify obstacles hindering the scale-up of newborn care across seven health system building blocks. We used qualitative methods to collect data from five medical universities and their corresponding hospitals in three provinces. We also interviewed other national experts, key informants, and stakeholders in neonatal care. In addition, we reviewed and qualitatively analyzed the performance report of neonatal care and services from 16 medical universities around the country. RESULTS: We identified many challenges and bottlenecks in the scale-up of newborn care in Iran. The major obstacles included but were not limited to the lack of a single leading and governing entity for newborn care, insufficient financial resources for neonatal care services, insufficient number of skilled health professionals, and inadequate patient transfer. CONCLUSIONS: To address identified bottlenecks in neonatal health care in Iran, some of our recommendations were as follows: establishing a single national authorizing and leading entity, allocating specific budget to newborn care, matching high-quality neonatal health care providers to the needs of all urban and rural areas, maintaining clear policies on the distribution of NICUs to minimize the need for patient transfer, and using the available and reliable private sector NICU ambulances for safe patient transfer.

Cancer is a problem of both global and local concern. We determined the geo-epidemiological and spatial distribution of the 10 most common cancers in Iran. We used the data of the Iranian Cancer Registry for the year 2014 analysing the prevalence of 112,131 registered cancer cases with the aim of detecting potential geographical underlying causes. The geographic distribution of cancers is reported as standardized incidence rates at the provincial level considering risk with respect to sex and age. A geographical information systems (GIS) approach based on Anselin Local Moran's index method was used to map clusters and spatial autocorrelation patterns. The mean age of the patients was 55.6 (±17.8) and 61.7 (±18.2) for females and males, respectively, in the database which showed 46.1% (n=51,665) of all cases to be female. Analysis of the spatial distribution of cancers showed significant differences among the different provinces. Stomach and breast cancers were the most prevalent cancers in men and females, respectively. The highest incidence rates of stomach cancer were found in Ardabil and Zanjan provinces, with 48.38 and 48.08 per 100,000 population, respectively, while Tehran and Yazd provinces had the highest incidences of breast cancer, 51.0 and 47.5 per 100,000 population, respectively. Strong clustering patterns for stomach and breast cancers were identified in the north-western provinces and in Semnan Province, respectively. These patterns indicate a diversity of geo-epidemiological contributing factors to cancer incidence in Iran.

INTRODUCTION: Socioeconomic determinants along with genetic status may affect fatality rate of COVID-19. We intend to investigate the adjusted effects of the HLA-DRB1 alleles and socioeconomic determinants including gross domestic product per capita (GDP cap) and health expenditure per capita (HE cap) in fatality of COVID-19 during the early phase of epidemic in a group of countries. METHODS: As an ecological study, early exposure to epidemics was defined as having more than 5000 confirmed cases of COVID-19 from 1 March 2020 to 1 April 2020. Poisson regression was used to report adjusted incidence rate ratio (IRR) for case fatality rate in this constant time period. RESULTS: Fourteen countries were eligible. Among the alleles, DR7 showed the strongest risk factor (IRR=112.535, P<0.001). Having GDP cap more than 40000$ or having HE cap more than 3000$ was a protecting factor (IRR=0.899, P<0.001, adjusted with allele DR7). Having GDP cap more than 40000$ along with having HE cap more than 3000$ was a protecting factor (IRR=0.471, P<0.001, adjusted with allele DR7). CONCLUSION: Socioeconomic status of the countries may compensate the probable harmful effect of some HLA-DRB1 alleles. This conclusion was limited to a period that all the selected countries had almost similar governmental intervention.

RESUMO

The new coronavirus pandemic at the end of 2019 raised fear around the world. The rapid spread and relatively higher observed case fatality of this disease compared to other viral respiratory infections, have caused social reactions such as xenophobia and stigma. These negative social attitudes and acts will affect different segments of the society, such as patients and their families and health care providers. Also, this could disrupt the identification and surveillance of patients and could lead to considerable negative impacts on its control and management.

INTRODUCTION: Trabecular Bone Score (TBS) is an index of bone microarchitecture independent of Bone Mineral Density (BMD). Recently, TBS data has been used to optimize the predictive value of the Fracture Risk Assessment Tool (FRAX). The aim of this study was to evaluate the clinical value of FRAX adjustment with TBS in kidney transplant recipients. METHODS: Seventy post-transplant Iranian kidney recipients were included in this study. After the evaluation of BMD and TBS, the risk of major osteoporotic fracture (MOF) and hip fracture (HF) was assessed once with and once without TBS adjustment. The proportion of patients who needed a therapeutic intervention was compared before and after TBS adjustment. The association between TBS and BMD data was also evaluated. RESULTS: The mean age of the patients was 54 ± 8.8 years (range: 40 to 77). The mean TBS of the patients was 1.30 ± 0.12. In multivariate analysis, the TBS was significantly associated with the age (P < .05) and dialysis period (P < .05). A strong correlation was found between the spine BMD and TBS data (r = 0.612, P < .001). A significant correlation was found between the MOF and HF of the patients before and after adjustment for TBS. The proportion of patients needed a therapeutic intervention significantly increased from 17.1% to 25.7% after TBS adjustment of FRAX. CONCLUSION: Adjustment of FRAX with TBS will reclassify the treatment decision in a considerable number of kidney transplant recipients. This clinical value warrants the adjustment of FRAX data with TBS in future workouts.

Background: Under Every Newborn Action Plan (ENAP), stillbirth rate in every country should be reduced by 12 or fewer per 1000 total births by 2030. The aims of this study were to determine stillbirth rate at national and subnational levels and to investigate its associated risk factors in Iran. Methods: Using all data from Iranian Maternal and Neonatal Network (IMaN), we calculated stillbirth rate of Iran from 2014-2016. This network registers information of almost all births across the country. The logistic regression was used to estimate the adjusted odds ratio (aOR) with 95% confidence intervals (CIs) for stillbirth. Results: In 2014, still birth rate was 7.40 per 1000 births. In 2015 and 2016, stillbirth rates were 7.22 per 1000 births and 7.63 per 1000 births, respectively. The most important related factors of stillbirth were preterm birth (aOR= 62.53, 95% CI; 60.77-64.34), sexual ambiguity (aOR= 14.51, 95% CI; 12.76-16.50), and post term birth (aOR= 3.31, 95% CI; 2.66-4.13). Conclusion: Under Every Newborn Action Plan (ENAP), stillbirth rate in every country should be reduced by 12 or fewer per 1000 total births by 2030. Iran has achieved stillbirth target of ENAP at national level. It is important for the health care system to establish and improve specific and focused policies, interventions, and programs for achieving this target even in the most deprived areas.
